The
Martial Arts for me are all about complete movement, not only in the physical being but the movement of the mind and internal
energy as well. When I say this, I refer to two types of movement. Anyone can punch, but can you feel it, the power
and the focus of that punch.
Can you place and channel all of your internal and external energy to within those
movements with a concentration and focus required to make that technique unstoppable, special, with a defined intensity, yet
gracefullness. Not just a body movement, but the mind, the internal energy and with spirit.
Think more closesly about
movement in its simplest form, and consider natural body movement and reaction, as well as the thought process of how to get
there, and how to use the mind as a vessel to create flow of your technique and movements.
The journey and philosophy
of looking at your art in a fuller and more expressive way or light should never be neglected, and opens limit-less options
to the practitioner.
While of course in a more formal class situation it is important to be able to learn what is being taught, never
let your mind rest on the possiblilities, not only in your art but your potential
NOW LETS MAKE THIS CLEAR I make no sweeping claims to be of super Grandmaster
status, immortal, able to leap tall buildings, run around walls, be the very best, or the worlds most experienced martial
arts practitioner, I never have. I am mostly self taught.
I
believe there is far too much emphasis placed on this type of emulating to be just like somebody, and competing for who is The Best and who's grading is the highest. Who has their certificate ! I have received a lot of positive
feedback and some negatve. The negative seems to be from those rather narrow minded individuals that say that because I have
not strictly obtained my formal qualifications I CANNOT do this ! It amazes me that there are literally thousands of self
taught people excelling in many fields around the world, however without formal qualification they are not recognised
?
Although we can admire
the great exponents of the arts that have passed before us and that live today, no one can be someone else. There will never
be another Yip Man, or Bruce Lee, as there is only ever one of any person. Although their legacies follow on today through
their technique, principles and philosophy, each person needs to realise their own talents and potential.
I present
Renwaku Bujutsu to you as my personal philosophy on self defence. I believe it is an entirely effective, thorough and practical
way of building confidence, self awareness, and for developing and expressing your defensive capabilities should you ever
be required to use them.
I encourage anyone to take what they wish from this system and think for themselves from there
onwards. I wish for Renwaku Bujutsu to be just a starting point, if
its not for you then its not for you, that simple.
